Jacksonvilles First Official 9/12 Candidate!

Posted by fl on May 28, 2009 under 9/12 Candidates, Updates | Read the First Comment

I am pleased to announce that Richard Pait has become an official 9/12 candidate, by signing our contract!richard-p

Richard Pait is running in Jacksonville’s 13th district for City Council. He is a husband of 9 years, and a father. He is the son of a 30yr Navy Veteran Lt. Commander, and a music teacher. He went to school at UNF, and received his bachelor’s in music at Palm Beach University. He has worn many hats, which has made him a well rounded person, with experience in all different fields, such as a bank teller, construction, radio DJ, Fox30 Teleprompter and camera operator, warehouse manager and race track announcer. WOW! What experience!

After suffering open heart surgery, he gave up his career of being a music teacher at Mandarin Middle school, thinking, after he recovered, he would be able to get back into the same business. After he recovered, he found it difficult to find that sort of job, so he went into home improvements such as selling siding, roofing and storm protection. Doing this, he has become very familiar with building codes, and ended up being able to educate the customers on proper protection. He found that building inspectors and workers in the Duval County offices misinterpreting the laws, and this bothered him. He feels Jacksonville citizens are being taken advantage of, and wants to do something about it.

He has finally settled in a job at Edward White High School as the band and chorus director, and has come to realize there are serious budget cuts on the music programs. He plans on using half of his salary to help fund some of these programs because, as he states, “If not me, then who?”

He states his top priority, if elected will be the Budget, and getting city and county construction costs under control. When asked about the Trail Ridge Landfill situation, he simply states, had he been in office, he would have voted to bid the project; however, feels that Jacksonville would be sued either way.

If Jacksonville is going to get sued, then get sued for going out on the limb not staying against the tree and playing safe.”

Mr. Pait says he admires Daniel Hannan (who doesn’t!) and states that his stand against the hatred and intolerance of British government is “incredible”.

Mr. Pait says he has waited for the right person to come out and represent the city of Jacksonville and himself, and realized the only person who can represent him is himself. Here is a quote from an article interview that I thought seals the deal:

“I could no longer wait idly by and HOPE for someone to come along and try to possibly represent me to the best of their ability. I realized that the only person that could ever represent me….is me. If I want ‘me’ represented then I needed to do it myself. It’s not arrogance. It’s accepting accountability for my failure to act in this county. It’s accepting responsibility for my inactions for not standing up when I had the opportunity, time and voice for what was right. It’s personally accepting the blame for allowing liberals the chance to take seats, votes, and money from my family and I never cared enough to stop it or fight back. Well that ends now. I’m fighting back. Consequences come quickly.”

Folks, THIS is the kind of people we NEED in office.. Local and Nationally! Its people like Pait, that will change the way our government is run… One step at a time!

He is ready to serve the great people of Duval County, and with the support of 9/12′ers like you and me, we can make it happen!

Mr. Pait, we wish you nothing but luck in the campaign in Jacksonville!

Jeb Bush Jr. Endorses Rubio..

Posted by fl on under Updates | Be the First to Comment

A correction to my earlier post. I apologize, it was Jeb Bush Jr. Not Former Governor Jeb Bush. Sorry for any inconvenience!

In an email to me yesterday, from Jeb Bush Jr. via Rubio’s campaign:

Dear Jen,

Today I would like to let you know that I will be enthusiastically supporting my friend Marco Rubio for his bid for the United States Senate.

Florida and our country are at a crossroads. Not only in our economic life, but in who we are as Republicans.

My choice was a simple one: Marco Rubio represents the best in what our Party should strive to be and who it must engage – he is young, conservative, and believes in the principles of our Founding Fathers, that individual freedom and liberty are what makes our country great and always will.

Marco Rubio is a candidate who can help to bring our Party back on track by reaching out to our youth, entrepreneurs, Hispanics and those who believe that if you work hard enough, anything you dream can be achieved. With Marco, we have a great opportunity to elect a true conservative and a greater obligation to elect a man of principle.

I thank you for your time and consideration.

With warm regards,

Jeb Bush, Jr.

Tom Walsh for U.S Senate

Posted by fl on under Potential Candidate | Read the First Comment

A Former state senator for Ohio,  a married man since 1965, father of four, and grandfather to 9, is thinking of  representing in the U.S Senate for the great state of Florida.  tom-walsh

Tom Walsh, was a State senator for 8 years in Ohio, and while in office, he was a Deputy Finance director, part of the Ways and Means Committee, Finance Committee and controlling board. He helped reform taxes while being a senior staffer for the Dept of Taxation.  He was  asked by President Reagan to be a part of his Advisory Committee on Local Government and Small Businesses. WOW! I think that is awesome! Just think, our country was in a similar situation then, with a bad economy,  fiscal irresponsibility, and large government involvement. So Tom Walsh should have no problem facing our times today, for he has already been through it and survived! His overall voting record during his 2 terms was 99.5%. His scorecard was 100%..You cant beat that! LOL… Although that is not it! He was also invited after his term was up, to serve on the Florida State Supreme court to seve on a State Review board, making sure that laws are handled with accountability, conduct and legal competence for the Citizens of the Great State of Florida.

In a quote from Tom Walsh about his campaign:

My campaign will focus on the future of America. There will be no playing the blame game, the actions of the past, from Hoover to Roosevelt to Eisenhower to Johnson to Reagan to Clinton to Bush represent the past. I firmly believe we must learn and accept the lessons of the past while moving forward to espouse the American ideal to all those people throughout the world who yearn for freedom and liberty

Mr Walsh believes in Term limits, as he beleives this is the original interpretation of our founding fathers in the constitution.  He does not claim himself as a politician, but a citizen legislator. Again, another one, who feels that the word “politician” has lost all credibility.  Currently he owns a Real Estate business in Naples Florida, and has started an exploratory committee, traveling through the state, to get an idea of the support from the voters.

Its time to Rally folks! We are getting a lot of action here in Florida for representatives, wanting CHANGE! And most of these people are common folk like you and I, not a Cookie cutter politician, that wants the same old same old! These people represent our Views and our Values, and this really will be the “CHANGE” we all ”HOPED” for…. not what the current administration is giving us.

A Great article for you to read… regarding our FL Candidates

I was sent this link, and since it involved 3 of our candidates for US Senate, I thought I would share this with you!

Folks, this is what we need.. To rally the American votes, for REAL representation, and from what I am seeing, its not going to come from cookie-cutter politicians, its going to come from people just like you and me, that are willing to quit the “majority” and go with the “people”…..

Red County

Thanks!

What brought me here….. To 9/12 Candidates!

People ask me, Jen, how did you get to be where you are today, in regards to 9/12 candidates.. me-for-work

Well, let me explain, and I am sorry for it being so long!

I grew up in New Hampshire, and was just a care free kind of girl. I played sports and started working when I was 15 years old. My greatest dream was to be a veterinarian. Never in my life, did I ever feel that I would care for politics… See growing up in my family, we just never talked about politics, and whatever was talked about, was always a “liberal” sort of view. In school, they dont really educate you on it, so I was just uneducated and misinformed, but I really just didnt “care” I guess you could say. Like many currently in America, I failed to educate MYSELF, and I just “went with the flow”…

It wasnt until about 4 years ago, when I was living in Florida, that I began to see the real picture, and understand the constitution and why it was made the way it was… To PROTECT America’s freedom, and its people, from the tyranny and constraints of “BIG” government.
This is all thanks to my man, and the father of my son… When I met him at work, it was “love at first sight”…. We began to hang out a lot, and he started getting me listening to the “Great One” Mark Levin (Who I feel is Hilarious!), Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and the one and only Glenn Beck. He began to talk to me about issues, and what I thought about them. When I voiced my feelings on it, he asked “Why do you feel that way”, I said, I really dont know, its just how I feel.. I couldnt back any of my feelings, with facts. Well, he began to provide me with the facts, and values, and then it was all over from there.. I began reading the constitution, (YES REALLY!) and other history outlets, and I ENJOYED IT! I am now understanding our government and how its SUPPOSED to be run… It’s an amazing thing!

With Bush in office, and the war in Iraq, I began to voice my opinions more and more, to the people who were against Bush. Then this election happened with our country all of a sudden, rallying for someone who supports BIG government, and more control. It was like a flu epidemic being spread across the country. During Bush’s last year in office, the Republican party began to dwindle to nothing. Our Politicians were losing battles in the home states. WHY? Because they decided that going with the majority, was better than listening to the voters! So, this infuriated me! How could the people that swore to support their constituents, allow this to happen? Obama got elected, not only because of Race, but because he was able to reach out and provide “hope” to people that have since lost all hope, with the current administration. Now look where we are… Bailouts, government control over private business, more regulations on them and higher taxes, and soon to be socialism… This has angered me so much, that its all I think about now. Where did the good old days go, when people had to own up to personal responsibility, and we didnt care about being politically correct?

Glenn Beck annouced the 9/12 project, and this excited me! I have NEVER before been so excited about politics before in my life, and now here I am.. I want to be a part of a new way of life. A new way of electing our officials, by FORCING them to ahere to their Boss- The AMERICAN PEOPLE… and those who refuse, will be out of a job! I am happy to be a part of the 912candidates.org group and feel that this is where I was meant to be. Jacob has done an amazing job, setting this up this site, and gathering people to join. I never thought, and nor do I think Jacob did, that this would get so big, so fast, but that is what happens when people are passionate about what they believe in, and its people like us, and the rest of the 9/12 movement, that will give America the REAL Change, that it deserves!

Florida's FIRST 9/12 Candidate!

Posted by fl on under 9/12 Candidates, Inspiration, Updates, Useful Information | 2 Comments to Read

I am pleased to announce our First 9/12 Candidate to sign the contract for Florida!

Former NH Senator, Bob Smith, is running for U.S Senate in the state of Florida, for the Republican nomination and to replace the vacant seat left by Mel Martinez. Senator Smith brings to the table 18 years of experience in Congress, and states he can “hit the ground running” and wont need to be “brought up to speed” on the issues.

Senator Smith is a husband of 42 years to his wife Mary Jo, and has three children, Jennifer, Bobby and Jason. He is a Navy Veteran, and served aboard the USS Navasota in Vietnam. He was a High and Jr. High school History and English teacher and coached Varsity baseball and Football.

His political career began in 1985 to 1990 as U.S Congressman in New Hampshire’s First District, where he was on the Veterans Affairs, and Science & technology committee’s. In 1990 he decided to run for U.S Senate, to replace Gordon Humphrey, who was retiring at the time. He served in senate until 2003, when he was defeated by John Sununu. He attempted a run for President in 2000, however soon dropped out and endorsed George W. Bush. When Bush was up for reelection in 2003, Senator Smith chose not to endorse Bush a second time, and endorsed John Kerry. When I asked him why he would endorse a “political enemy” he answered that it was common practice of a President to endorse Incumbents for reelection in their own party, and Bush’s administration promised an endorsement in 2003 to Smith, however when it came time to do so, refused to endorse him, and the same for Katherine Harris in Florida, who was up for reelection. Senator Smith attributes this lack of support from the President, as the main reason for losing the senate race in 2003. The Senator thinks that loyalty, honesty and respect of your peers is what is needed to maintain a healthy political party, and at the time, Bush showed none of these qualities to the existing incumbents.

Since 2003, Senator Smith has been living in Florida, where he was the president of the Everglades Foundation from 2004-2007, he is also the founding director of First America Bank in Sarasota. He has other experience as a real estate broker as well.

When asked why he wants to run for Senate, he stated the following in an email to me:

“I have been watching with much dismay over these past several months as our country continues to veer away from the free market and far to the left on economic, defense, foreign, domestic and social policy. Making matters worse, the Republican Party appears demoralized, confused and leaderless. America and our party have lost their compass.  I have agonized as to whether to re-enter national politics. I have sought and received advice from family, friends and voters. After weighing all information very carefully, I have concluded that I can no longer “sit on the sidelines” in this fight for the soul of America. I believe that I still have much to offer my country. I have made the decision to run for the Republican nomination for the United States Senate in the 2010 primary here in Florida.  I have served in Congress for eighteen years and I can hit the ground running. I will not need to “get up to speed” on the issues. I am a proven conservative leader with a record of accomplishment. I will fight for the conservative soul of our party and our country. If you will help me get this message out to the voters of Florida, I can win. We will be the beacon in the fight to lead America back! I am prepared to give it everything I have, but I cannot do it without your help.”

“It’s time for Republicans to start acting like Republicans again!”

Senator Smith, we salute and thank you for your service, and wish you luck in the campaign!

Jacksonville’s City Council Candidate.

Posted by fl on May 20, 2009 under 9/12 Candidates | 2 Comments to Read

He is the son of a 30yr Navy veteran Lt. Commander, a music teacher at Edward White High School, a father and a husband of 9 years. He is a hard working man, and is tired of the lying and cheating in Washington, and has decided to do something about it. richard-p1

Richard Pait understands what “service” means.. He states he has “lived it”… Just like the rest of us common people in America, he understands the value of a dollar and knows how to balance a budget without raising taxes. He is an honest citizen, and understands that truth and loyalty mean EVERYTHING.. Folks, this man is the real deal. An American just like you and I, and is tired of the government taking away our rights. He wants to bring the country back to the way our Founding Fathers intended it to be, and that is why he is running as a Republican, for Jacksonville City Council, District 13.

I have requested Mr. Pait, to become a 9/12 candidate because we need these individuals, in ALL elected seats, to be a part of our cause, because it always starts at the local level…

Mr. Pait does not consider himself a politician, because he feels that this is a degrading title, and wants no part in it. He states on his website:

“I currently am, and will remain faithfully yours, a committed Public Servant.  Not to just the Republican Party but to Democrats, Independents and every political party in-between”

He is ready to serve the great people of Duval county, and with the support of 9/12′ers like you and me. I have asked him to sign our contract, and will advise once I receive it.

An Email I received from a Voter in FL

Posted by fl on May 19, 2009 under Updates | Be the First to Comment

I thought I would share this email that was sent to me today regarding candidate for Senate, Marco Rubio…. This is the kind of support we need to find in America… People like you and me, that CARE what our candidates will do in Washington. Enjoy…

Dear Jen,

My son, a Navy pilot, left 5 months ago to serve our country in Iraq. Since then, I have spent every day hoping that the people who represent us in the federal government are serving us half as well as he would.

Now more than ever, we need true patriots standing up for us in Washington.

A few weeks ago at my Southeast Republican meeting I sat and listened as Marco spoke about real reform, better government, and real opportunities for the American dream. I was inspired by his candidness, sincerity, and commitment to public service. I was so moved that I went home and donated to his campaign because he is the man I want to represent me, and my son, in Washington.

Honesty, sincerity, true to principle: these are qualities that I believe a real leader should have; these are the qualities missing in Washington today.

And these are the qualities I see when I look at and listen to Marco Rubio.
Marco is an American patriot. He simply “gets it.” My father was a German Jew who was lucky to escape in the late 1930’s. He enlisted in the American army after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and always said that apart from his wedding day and the birth of his four children, serving his new country was one of his proudest moments. I see that same passion and love of country that my father possessed in Marco.

That’s why I’m standing with Marco–every day until Election Day–and doing everything I can to see Marco elected the next U.S. Senator from Florida. I donated $25 this month and I’ll keep donating each and every month until the end of the campaign. If you care about seeing our government get back to balanced budgetsand common sense, I urge you to do the same.

I am looking forward to a great campaign, and a great new United States Senator from our great state of Florida!

Sincerely,

Joy
