A father of five children, he states his most important role in life is that he is a good father to them, and to see that they grow up with the love of God in their hearts, for others and their self. He prides himself on teaching them the history of this great nation, and to appreciate all they have in this world. bernie

His past is all but perfect, but he has turned it around for the better. He has founded the Florida Ex-Offender Reentry Coalition (www.feorc.org ), the Time for Freedom, Inc, which is a non-for profit organization to help teach and preach the gospel to prisoners and helps to provide services for reentry to them. Bernie was convicted of drug related crimes; however, after ten years of being on parole, he was issued a full pardon by then Florida Governor, Lawton Chiles.

In 2003, Bernie was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to be part of the Governor’s Statewide Faith-Based Advisory Board, and in 2006 he was again asked by Governor Bush to sit on the Governor’s Ex-Offender Task Force.

His stance on the issues are similar to those of the 9/12 followers, he is for sovereignty, limited government, term limits for Congress, closing our dependence for foreign oil, the Fair Tax, a strong immigration policy, he is Pro-life, and  preserving our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.

Bernie stands as a man of faith, and beliefs that share the same values you and I do. He is proven to be a converted man, that has changed his life for the better, and now he wants to do the same for Florida.  He is proof that people can change for the better, if given the chance. Here is our chance to see that change!

You can see his website at: http://www.electbernie.com/index.html

I will be contacting Bernie to see if he would be willing to sign onto our cause, and sign our contract. I will update as needed.

Tom Walsh for U.S Senate

Posted by fl on May 27, 2009 under Potential Candidate | Read the First Comment

A Former state senator for Ohio,  a married man since 1965, father of four, and grandfather to 9, is thinking of  representing in the U.S Senate for the great state of Florida.  tom-walsh

Tom Walsh, was a State senator for 8 years in Ohio, and while in office, he was a Deputy Finance director, part of the Ways and Means Committee, Finance Committee and controlling board. He helped reform taxes while being a senior staffer for the Dept of Taxation.  He was  asked by President Reagan to be a part of his Advisory Committee on Local Government and Small Businesses. WOW! I think that is awesome! Just think, our country was in a similar situation then, with a bad economy,  fiscal irresponsibility, and large government involvement. So Tom Walsh should have no problem facing our times today, for he has already been through it and survived! His overall voting record during his 2 terms was 99.5%. His scorecard was 100%..You cant beat that! LOL… Although that is not it! He was also invited after his term was up, to serve on the Florida State Supreme court to seve on a State Review board, making sure that laws are handled with accountability, conduct and legal competence for the Citizens of the Great State of Florida.

In a quote from Tom Walsh about his campaign:

My campaign will focus on the future of America. There will be no playing the blame game, the actions of the past, from Hoover to Roosevelt to Eisenhower to Johnson to Reagan to Clinton to Bush represent the past. I firmly believe we must learn and accept the lessons of the past while moving forward to espouse the American ideal to all those people throughout the world who yearn for freedom and liberty

Mr Walsh believes in Term limits, as he beleives this is the original interpretation of our founding fathers in the constitution.  He does not claim himself as a politician, but a citizen legislator. Again, another one, who feels that the word “politician” has lost all credibility.  Currently he owns a Real Estate business in Naples Florida, and has started an exploratory committee, traveling through the state, to get an idea of the support from the voters.

Its time to Rally folks! We are getting a lot of action here in Florida for representatives, wanting CHANGE! And most of these people are common folk like you and I, not a Cookie cutter politician, that wants the same old same old! These people represent our Views and our Values, and this really will be the “CHANGE” we all ”HOPED” for…. not what the current administration is giving us.

Florida’s former chief medical officer, and Doctor,  is tired of the way healthcare is being handled in America and here in Florida, has decided to run for U.S  Senate.  thorpe

Dr. Thorpe will be the first African-American Republican to announce a run for Senate.  He supports the Sanctity of Life, and feels we need to promote and encourage small businesses. He is against anmesty for Illegal immigrants, lower taxes, and alternative energy.

His quote from his site www.marionthorpe.com on why he is running for U.S Senate:

A New potential Candidate for Florida?

Posted by fl on May 7, 2009 under 9/12 Candidates | 4 Comments to Read

Marco Rubio has officially annouced a run for Mel Martinez’s vacant Senate seat in the 2010 election. I have been doing some research on him, and so far, he fits the profile of someone we could back to be the real change in our government.  rubio

Here is a little information, about him from his campaign site www.marcorubio.com Please also review, and let me know what you think. I have emailed his campaign to see if he would be willing to pledge his oath to our cause. I will update that information once I receive it!

Marco Rubio previously served as a City Commissioner for West Miami. He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives for the 111th District in a special election on Jan. 25, 2000. He was subsequently re‐elected each November.

He served as Majority Whip from 2000 to 2002. During that tenure he also played a key role in Congressional and Legislative redistricting.

From 2002 to 2004, Rubio served as House Majority Leader.

In September of 2005, Rubio was nominated by the Republican Conference to be their candidate for Speaker of House. From October 2005 until April of 2006 Rubio chaired the House Select Committee on Property Rights. That committee ultimately crafted national model legislation in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s Kelo decision regarding eminent domain.

In November 2006, he was elected of the Florida State House for the 2006‐2008 term.

During his tenure as Speaker, Marco Rubio promoted a conservative, smaller‐ government approach to legislating.

During 2007, Marco Rubio, championed a major overhaul of the Florida tax system. The plan would have eliminated all property taxes on primary residences and replaced the revenue with a flat consumption tax.

His tenure was also marked by successful efforts to create a world‐class public school curriculum, passing legislation designed to address the socio‐economic factors that lead to academic underperformance. Furthermore, Rubio is widely credited for blocking the expansion of gambling in Florida. In particular, Rubio successfully petitioned the Florida Supreme Court to invalidate an Indian Gaming Compact entered into by Governor Crist with the Seminole Tribe of Indians.

Rubio also led the way in passing historic energy legislation based on market incentives rather than big government mandates.

During the summer and fall of 2008, Rubio worked as Florida Chairman for GOPAC. He also served as a political analyst for Univision 23 WLTV in Miami.

Rubio is an attorney who practices law as a sole practitioner. He also works as a distinguished visiting professor for the Metropolitan Center at Florida International University.

Rubio is on the board of Alafit International, a worldwide non‐profit organization dedicated to global literacy. He also serves on the board of the Latin Builders Association.

I did some research on where he stands on issues:
1. He is a conservative and believes in the Constitution
2.  He supports Pro-Life
3. He supports limited government
4. He supports the 2nd Amendment and states that Law Abiding citizens shouldnt be taxed because of what the criminals are doing.
            * He is for no taxing on Ammo and he is Against the assault Rifle ban
5.  He is for lower taxes
6. He is for Energy independence and states he is for offshoare drilling and other domestic initiatives.
7. He is for reform of National Security, and quoted “The world is safer when America is strong”
8.  He is against Russian expansion in Cuba and our southern boarders. He has no toleration for their threats, and stated the threats should be taken seriously. (No weapons being placed in Cuba)
9. He is against Amnesty for Illegal immigration. He stated “Never has been and never will” and feels we must enforce the existing Immigration Laws and that we shouldnt reward them for breaking the law.
10. He is against the stimulus bill (again this falls under limited government)
So there you have it.. Again, I am still researching this candidate, and I will follow up on the email sent to his campaign today.
